Climate
Southern California’s desert weather is very pleasant during late winter and early spring. The valley is sheltered by the Little San Bernadino Mountains to the north, the Santa Rosa Mountains on the south, and the San Jacinto Mountains to the west. This geographical location provides the area with its famed warm, dry climate. The days will be mostly sunny and warm (mid 80s) before cooling overnight to the high 50s. Attire
The desert climate is perfect for layered attire allowing the flexibility to adjust clothing to the day’s varying temperatures. Sweaters or jackets are generally needed in the early morning and after sunset. Remember: casual dress is an accepted part of living. In this resort community, upscale and casual merge as the general dress code. Sophisticated resort attire like jeans with t-shirt and a sports jacket crosses paths with shorts, loose-fitting tops and sandals. Almost any lightweight fabric works well in this warm, dry climate.
Thursday evening’s welcome fiesta (sophisticated resort attire) will take place outdoors on grass; consideration needs to be given to footwear (no heels) and perhaps a wrap for cooling temperatures. Friday night’s gala calls for cocktail attire for the ladies and jacket with tie for the gentlemen. Once again, a wrap maybe necessary during our Under the Stars After Party.
Regarding daytime recreation, comfortable shoes, sunglasses, hat and/or sunscreen (minimum of SPF 15 or higher) is necessary for all outdoor play. All activities require casual apparel and comfortable shoes (activity-appropriate) suitable for walking or standing. Activities with specific requirements are:
-
Golf. Collared shirt, slacks, skirt or Bermuda-length shorts (no denim); soft-spiked golf shoes
-
Horseback Riding. Long pants and closed toed shoes (avoid hiking boots or thick soles)
-
Jeep Adventure. Layered attire, comfortable walking shoes suitable for uneven terrain
